Unicode block

Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols

Bold, italic, script, Fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif, monospace letters, and mathematical digits.

What this block contains

Bold, italic, script, Fraktur, double-struck, sans-serif, monospace letters, and mathematical digits. The range U+1D400–U+1D7FF groups related encoded characters, but membership in the same Unicode block does not guarantee that two glyphs share a mathematical meaning, font design, or input method.

Code point range

U+1D400–U+1D7FF

Examples

Copy an example as text, then verify its code point and accessible name in the destination. Do not identify a character only by appearance: font fallback can make different code points look almost identical.

Notes

  • These are distinct Unicode characters, not ordinary text with CSS styling.
  • Compatibility normalization may change them.

Publishing checklist

  • Preserve the original Unicode code point instead of converting the glyph to an image.
  • Use LaTeX or MathML when the character belongs to a structured expression.
  • Test the chosen font, copy-and-paste result, search behavior, and screen-reader pronunciation.
